"I shall smite you in the nostrils with a rod of iron, and wax your spleen with Efferdent!!"

Well composed deductive reasoning. It's popular for detractors to say, "The Bible has been changed and was fictionalized centuries later." But investigation disproves that for a number of reasons.

I know some of my Jewish friends, Dan before his brain tumor, especially, would rise to rebut a few points you made but weakly. Dan used to say the temple was not destroyed to the last stone, the wailing wall still stands, but that was a foundation wall, not the temple itself. The temple was eradicated.

I asked him once if Romans walked into the Holy of Holies (this space so mystically sacred only the high priest entered and then only once a year, and only then with a rope around his waist so if he died in there he could be pulled out without any lesser man going in after him and offending G-d) and walked out with its contents and didn't die, doesn't that hint G-d had departed? Dan didn't like that question.

Brave topic, good job.

Lewis,
A subject that interests me and espoused in a way I'd not thought of before, it is also my opinion regarding the writings of the New Testament that they were written by witnesses.  The destruction of the "second temple" certainly is an object lesson in well documented ancient history.
Good job.
