I've  heard an "outer limits" movie is coming which will be an anthology.

Just don't hire john landis to direct any segments...

yes! big fan of that one.

don't think TORTURE GARDEN has been mentioned yet (sorry if it has). like that one as well

in fact pretty much all the early to mid 70s ones. so campy/cheesy but good at the same time...

the problem is I tend to forget which individual segments have come from which film...

btw I highly recommend the episode 'And Now The Fearing' from Steve Coogan's DR. TERRIBLE'S HOUSE OF HORRIBLE series that went out in early 2000s. it's like a perfect homage/pastiche of the old hammer & amicus anthology movies. (it was also the best episode of that series by a mile)

yup, i've got torture garden too. and i do the same thing. fortunately my husband has an astounding memory and can usually pull the right one of the shelf for me.

KWAIDAN (1964) may be one of the best.
This came from f**king Toho! You know- Godzilla and company? I dunno- Toho made some beautiful movies. I think that's why even some of the giant monster movies are watchable today.
It's almost painting on film! And very f**king scary!

I don't really like anthology movies much; there's always one or two weak entries.

That said the last three choices, KWAIDAN, ROBOT CARNIVAL and AKIRA KUROSAWA'S DREAMS are all very good. KWAIDAN is probably the strongest anthology film all around.
I'll take you places the hand of man has not yet set foot...

Nightmares (1983) with Emilio Estevez.

I always thought The Twilight Zone The Movie was great until I read about the deaths on set  :bluesad:

Up yours, John Landis: you should be in jail for murder.

I love a good anthology movie, but it seems like most of the ones I'd want to talk about have already been listed.

Just curious,  what were  your favorite segments from robot carnival and dreams?  I think you're the first person to tell me they liked robot carnival....

Btw I liked the openingand end  segment and theme to RC.
