Jaws 2 was actually the first one I saw when I was a kid, cuz it came to HBO shortly after we got cable TV when I was  9 or 10 years old. I didn't see the original till a few years after that.

I don't remember being particularly scared by either one but I was certainly fascinated by them.

Jaws 3D and Jaws: the Revenge (which I actually paid to see in a theater!), however... not so much.

I'm incredibly confused as to why a topic about Jaws is listed in the bad movies section of the forum
Kubrick, Nolan, Tarantino, Wan, Iñárritu, Scorsese, Chaplin, Abrams, Wes Anderson, Gilliam, Kurosawa, Villeneuve - the elite

Well there are a few things that qualify jaws for badmoviedom.

The completely unrealistic nature of the shark. I mean no great white is that big,  no great white could  do what it did, no great white could eat a full grown man and have room for another. That  shark  was about as close to reality as a giant radioactive ant.

Also a scuba tank does not xxxxing explode when shot!!!

Jaws was basically a monster movie that was well made and had a big budget and cast but at heart was a giant mutant animal monster movie.

Not gonna lie: I never got past the first 15 minutes without falling asleep. Maybe I'll give it another chance in the future, but it's just an overhyped movie...
