Optical illusion?

So Popular Science claims this is an optical illusion. It doesn't look like one to me.



Apparently, because of something called "color constancy," you're supposed to see these strawberries as red (or at least see some shades of red). They look 100% shades of green to me. They do say "most" people see red.

I guess it's a poor filter choice with too much blue (or not enough grey). If I understood correctly, a balanced green/blue dominance in a picture shifts the perception of "objectively grey" towards red. Here is a better example with the possibility to block out most of the picture. (I especially like how the color of the "mask" seemingly shifts color depending on what part of the picture you concentrated on...).

Yep. That one illustrates the red illusion they're talking about. Looks like Popular Science used the wrong picture somehow! Guess that's why they're "Popular" Science, not "Expert" Science.
