Shocking that Diana has been gone for so long that she and her era can now be presented as history instead of current events. This is on Netflix now and worth seeing.

22 years already: incredible how time flies.

I was approached in 2017 to take part in a docco about her - something along the lines of ordinary people who felt their lives were touched by her in some way as I was - but withdrew when it seemed that it was a bit underhanded. Pity as I would have felt honoured to speak about someone I consider a life mentor.  Smile

Even though most of us here on this board would have liked to have seen you on TV, you were probably wise to withdraw, but, I for one, would like to know why you thought the docco was underhanded?

What happened to make me think so was a week before my interview was to be taped, the makers - who had written permission from my bosses for me to take part - told me that I would also be asked about apartheid and what was going on in SA in 1981: that was something I had no permission to talk about and I wasn't living here then, nor did I grow up under those crappy laws.

I confronted the filmmakers about this, reminding them of what I had permission to talk about and withdrew from the project.

Here's a thread I made back then: http://www.badmovies.org/forum/index.php/topic,149319.0.html

Just BTW, if you think what I wrote there was bad, you should see the emails which went back and forth between me and the company: lots of four letter words, none of them spelled G O O D  or  N I C E.
