sorry for the caps in the title, but want to emphasise I don't mean tv spin-offs of shows that were already a tv series anyway (e.g. JOEY).

I'm intrigued by BEYOND WESTWORLD (1980), a spin off of WESTWORLD (1973), which was cancelled before the end of its 1st series (despite somehow also winning a tv award!)

any other similar examples? the Fail-er the better...

Tremors. As I understand it, it failed to make it past the pilot episode.

I remember watching the series Delta House before I've seen the movie it was based on, Animal House.

You ain't missing much. People all brag about the Old SNL line-up. I never Liked John Belushi, Chevy Chase or Bill Murray.  Made by a buncha sell-out collage hippies from the 60's who did the Smarter Than Thou rag National Lampoon.

Clerks got a magnificent but very short lived cartoon series.  I'd highly recommend it.

There was also a much less well know live action TV pilot.  I've heard some sources say it never aired and other say it just never got picked up.  Either way, it was terrible.  It felt like a second rate Saved By the Bell, lacking any of the cynical charm or snark the original had.  It didn't even feature Jay and Silent Bob.

Would someone like to define the term "failed," as I might have some, but before I add 'em here, I'd like to know what we consider to be a failed TV spin-off series.

only had a pilot made, and was never commissioned
or
cancelled before the end of the initial 1st season run
or
only had 1 or 2 seasons and was generally considered a dud

...but you can mention anything you like, it's all good  Thumbup

Ferris Bueller and Uncle Buck both managed to get Tv series.  I've never watched either of them but nothing I hear about them is good.

Ferris Bueller was a rip off of Parker Lewis Can't Lose. That IMHO is why it flopped.

Weird Science had a tv show, but I didn't have cable at the time.

Bill and Ted's Excellent Adventure had two spin-offs, one animated and the other live action. While the former is fondly remembered by some (and had the advantage of the main characters being voiced by Winter, Reeves, and Carlin), the latter is reviled and only lasted seven episodes.

FREDDY'S NIGHTMARES? I never seen even 1 episode. But it was on from '88 until '90...?
