I learned how to say certain things in German from reading Sgt.Fury comic books.
Like-"Ach Tung!" and "Was ist los?".

Supernatural?...perhaps. Baloney?...Perhaps not!" Bela Lugosi-the BLACK CAT (1934)
Interviewer-"Does Dracula ever end for you?
Lugosi-"No. Dracula-never ends."

You ever heard of Commando comics RC? Used to read them as a kid and still got a few of them kicking around. Its a mix of true story war stuff as well as made up stories.

I picked up a fair bit of German from them, although generally single words rather than conversational German.

Edit. Looks like they've wandered a bit into horror territory since I last read them.

Hail to thyself
For I am my own master
I am my own god
I require no shepherd
For I am no sheep.

The Burgomaster

I learned to over-use the word "very."

"You will pay with your very lives!"

"Those creatures are emerging from the very ground!"

"His power is draining the essence from my very soul!"

"Do not walk behind me, for I may not lead. Do not walk ahead of me, for I may not follow. Do not walk beside me either. Just pretty much leave me the hell alone."
