This was a "cash and gift card" Christmas. My wife and I had no idea what we wanted, so I just told my parents to give us cash and gift cards.

We also had a big project in work for about 3 weeks that ended the week before Christmas. As a sign of appreciation, the company gave us each $250 worth of gift cards. The rest of the department also got 3 extra vacation days (I didn't because I'm not an employee . . . just a contractor).
