"Pee-wee emerges from prison to become an unlikely yodeling star; then moves to Hollywood and becomes a movie star; then he develops a severe pill and alcohol addiction that turns him into a monster," according to Reubens.

He's also mentioned that Pee-Wee will be sent to a mental institution for his alcoholism and will receive shock therapy.

The plan right now is to use that de-aging special effects that Sam Jackson used in Captain Marvel or Will Smith used in Gemini man for the role.

Right now there's nobody actually attached to doping the project but Netflix's head honcho has came out and said they aren't interested in a dark Pee-Wee movie.
