ER

Hard day today. I drove five hours each way to visit a former co-worker who was recently in a very bad aviation accident. He was handling it well on the surface, evincing that military toughness that seems part of the job, but he is lucky to be alive and has a long road of ahead of him, including more surgeries on top of several he's already had. In fact he's been in a VA facility for about five weeks and will be til summer, with a lot of physical therapy coming.

His take? "Yeah, it f**ked up my day, but at least I got a third Purple Heart out of the deal."

It was very hard seeing him in a wheelchair, but, hey, he was still himself and will live on.

And I'm glad I went.

An Uber driver just thanked me for a tip I gave him almost a year ago.

Depression sucks.  :bluesad:

Indeed. I thought you saw a doctor and got a prescription? Or am I remembering wrongly?

I did, thanks Rev.

I am on three types of meds daily and the usual scenario pops up: the meds help for a while and then they start making me feel sicker than I was before I started taking them.  :bluesad:

An adjustment may be needed. Stay strong.

Mondays are my longest day of the week - I teach a full school day and then a night class, leaving home at 6:30- 7 AM and getting home around 9 PM.
But tonight I had a check in the mail from some settlement with Wells Fargo bank I'd never heard of.
$124 out of the blue!!  Gotta love "pennies from heaven!"
