The  Four Nightingales in 1908 - Gummo, Lou Levy, Groucho (as Hans Pumpernickel, the butcher boy), and Harpo. There was a little comedy, but the act was mostly music back then. As Gummo recalled, "We would sing what were the popular songs of the  day - until we sang them."
