"Abyss" by Anika. If you ever wanted to hear Nico in a post-punk band, this is as close as you'll come.

RC- I agree with you on the BB track. I didn't pick my favorite tune, I picked one that had the highest # of plays on YT figuring that would be popular. Try this short one if you want: https://youtu.be/kdGiSPGGJJ8?si=ixSvCXDab17iUmJP The album is probably more good background music than anything.

^ That's a little TOO mellow for me. I might fall asleep listening to that!

"Rathlin from a Distance | The Liquid Hour" by Yann Tiersen. Double album that's half acoustic piano, half pop songs.

Dance music that it's impossible to dance to.

First album I've ever heard that made me think, "Damn, I hope that person gets an intervention soon."

This is going to be one of my top releases of the year for sure. Groovy sitar, I like 2 out of 3 cuts which is an incredible hit rate for me.

I've been listening to these vintage obscura monthly things on youtube. It's not really vintage, mostly from the 70-80s so far.

Rev- I think this would be right up your alley. It's smooth and cool.

Yeah, I dig that funky groove. Gritty but mellow. Should play over the credits of a blaxploitation flick. (BTW I'm cool, but not smooth!)

Greek folk music that's sometimes traditional, sometimes avant-garde.

"Anxious" by Nell Smith. Interesting, tragic story here: Nell sang with the Flaming Lips as a teenager, then released this, her debut solo album, at 17 years old, then promptly died in a car accident. The album is too pop for me, but she was obviously very talented and had a bright future. RIP.

"Throbbing Pouch" by Wagon Christ sounds like the punkiest record made in 1985, but it's actually "easy (or 'eazy') listening hip hop."
