The first Bowie album I bought and one of the first albums I ever bought (on cassette tape). Probably haven't listened to it straight through in nearly 30 years. I know it's not Bowie's greatest achievement but there are some solid tunes here.

^ You're right. I've never replaced my LP.  If you don't know it, Hunky Dory is the one to listen too.

I like singles off "Hunky Dory," but when it comes to best Bowie album I'm team Ziggy all the way.

BOB MARLEY AND THE WAILERS CATCH A FIRE

The only single I know of from Hunky Dory is "Changes". Bowie's best songs are on it. It's better than Ziggy.  Such wonderful songs. "Oh! You Pretty Things" "Life On Mars" "Queen b***h" "The Bewlay Brothers" ... My own favorite on the album is the one Bowie didn't write "Fill Your Heart"

I imprecisely use "singles" as a synonym for "tracks/songs." Growing up listening to album-oriented radio, I rarely had any idea what songs were technically singles and what weren't. I love "Life on Mars," like most of the other tracks on "Hunky Dory." I love nearly every track on "Ziggy Stardust." But it seems many really dedicated Bowie fans name "Hunky Dory" as their favorite.

^ BOWIE is definitely a mixed bag with at least a few not good albums.  I am not a "dedicated fan", but if any think HUNKY DORY is his best, they're right.
