life chews you up and spits you out. she is raped then finds and kills her attackers.
Oh!  Is that what that movie is about?

And you said you like this movie.
I still have the same question...WHY?  It's not well made. There is no spooky music or any kind of suspense or real storyline. The acting is awful. It's just rape abuse kill. It's useless.
There is nothing enjoyable there.
What part of it did you ENJOY watching?
Yes. A woman gets raped and takes revenge. And in the worst low budget bulls**t way.
I have asked you this 3 times- and you have never given a straight answer.
It's an awful film. WHY DO YOU ENJOY IT?

I'm sad you like it.  :bluesad:

I only watched ISOYG once. I actually liked Camille Keaton's performance. what ruined it for me wasn't the subject matter or the style or anything like that... it was the mentally disabled guy who looked a bit like Rick Moranis.  his whole schtick was so over-the-top dumb that I wanted to slap my tv.

there are 3 remakes which came out post 2000... I've somehow seen 2 of them. kind of torture-porny iirc... not worth watching

There is no spooky music

haha... that's kind of an odd criticism? half the time I wish films would have less music like that, it can get overbearing very quick, and usually takes me out of the moment

But who wants to be in the moment of a gang rape?
I don't like torture porn if it takes place in 1976 or 2020.
Does not make an enjoyable movie for me.
Even if it's a bad movie, I want it to take me away. From s**t like this.
That's why I like FANTASY films.
If I wanna see s**t like that, I'll watch Nazi concentration camp movies.

Despite all the controversy, this is quite interesting

QuoteIn a 1984 interview with Fangoria, Zarchi said that 20 million people worldwide saw I Spit on Your Grave. I Spit on Your Grave did poorly at the box office, but managed to have some success in videocassette sales. The film reached number 24 on Billboard's 1981 list of best-selling titles. The film stayed in the Billboard Video Cassette Top Forty for 14 consecutive weeks and won the number one best-selling video cassette award above more popular movies like Fiddler on the Roof, The Godfather: Part II and Grease. By 1982, I Spit on Your Grave had been released on video six times in the United States due to high demand. In 1984, Zarchi said: "I found out that of the millions of video machines in England, there's maybe one single house that has not seen I Spit on Your Grave."

used like that it's perfect. of course. JAWS, dur nuh dur nuh dur nuh.... perfect.

I'm talking about when the score is used as a crutch and just drones on, which it does in many films.

either way, I've never seen 'lack of spooky music" used as a negative before....  whatever tho, it's all good

I agree on music that just doesn't need to be there. FRANKENSTEIN (1931) has no score.
Yet BRIDE OF FRANKENSTEIN (1935) has a wonderful score by Max Stiener.
DRACULA (1931) had no score, beyond the Swan Lake opening title music. I bought a vhs tape that had Philip Glass (a talented musician) do a score for it.... that destroys the eerie silence that contributed to the too few good scenes it has.
DRACULA is not a good movie. After the first half hour, it goes downhill and becomes a stagy drawing room drama. Lugosi and Dwight Frye as Renfield save it from being total s**t.

The film was successful in the long run and is still notorious.  The question isn't weird.  You stating you "love" that film is weird.

I would not compare the triple assault of a woman in lengthy detail, clearly violated in every way, with a chicken dinner.   :bluesad:

We all can agree, for various personal reasons that I SPIT ON YOUR GRAVE is a s**tty movie.

Moving on, how many have braved the theater to watch CATS?   I went with a friend, knowing it was going to be bad. It was much worse than I expected.

I saw it. It was bad. Not very amusing, either, though I hear it might be better with a large group yelling back at the screen. I don't know if it was in the "50 worst of all time" bad. Maybe the worst movie backed by a major studio in 2019, though.
I'll take you places the hand of man has not yet set foot...

chainsaw midget

I wouldn't put Cats on a list of bad movies.

I'd put it on a list of "Okay, what the hell is this?" movies.  There's a certain I don't know what, about it that seperates it from movies that are just "bad".

I spit on Your Grave is universally heralded as a horror classic. People who don't like it have to explain themselves, the mainstream, who see it as the classic that it is, do not.
