Hardly "the most horrible thing ever".   Colorization has improved.  Some of us don't care for it; others won't watch a movie if it's black and white.  Go figure. 
Also the best ORSON WELLES scene in the film, so hard to disapprove...

I once had an Indian client from Mumbai who told all of us "All the black and white films in your collection are s**t: they must all be colorized" and we soon showed him the door. Buggedout
