Ha! I like that. It also sounds more like French than Spanish. My cousin Adam was married to a Brazilian woman back in the day and she spoke English well but her accent was downright trippy. She'd pronounce "America" like it had a q in it, and when she'd say "car" it was like "kee-air." She was a cool lady.....

Today I heard After Hours by the Velvet Underground (technically Lou Reed) and it'd been a long time since I did. I was reminded very strongly of two things. How much I loved that song in high school and the good times it went with, and a psychopath I knew in England, who used to get me to sing it to him, to the point the song felt poisoned. Today it didn't feel poisoned anymore, and I smiled and remembered across almost thirty years to how happy it used to make me.

That's progress.

Speed Racer is a nice guy. No really; most of the episodes show him stopping to help other racers when they get into trouble. The YouTube videos are, 99% of the time, taken out of context.

I don't know anything about YouTube videos of Speed Racer, but I am suddenly reminded of an old girlfriend of mine who confessed that her first crush was on Speed Racer.
