My brother is getting 2 giant puzzles and Death to Smoochy.

My mom is getting a $50 Barnes and Noble giftcard.

My dad is getting Death to Smoochy, Spiral: From the Book of a Saw and a Christmas ornament I made on Walmart's website using a photo.

In my family we draw names to give someone what they want for Christmas, and I drew one of my uncles.

He is getting a $10 gift certificate to a local coffee and tea place. Additionally, he is getting a lot of coffee from that establishment. Most of the grounds are from around the world. I also selected their house blend of coffee grounds for him.

I don't do Christmas, really. Only two people I'd but for, is likely just my mom and grandmother.

Frankly I've zero contact with most of the family and choose to stay home and relax that day

Pretty much what I posted in last year's thread

Quote
christmas bags filled with christmas joy. They may include gift cards, cookies, nuts, candy, small bottle of wine or something without alcohol, obligatory candle and other stuff. Easy, quick and always appreciated.

We decided to quit giving christmas gifts years ago because we are a large family. With 20 people what to buy for each and everyone? Who has that kind of money? That said, I've spend roughly $330 for the christmas bags. I usually start buying xmas stuff beginning in September, Oktober and November.

The bags are filled and ready to hand out on christmas.

One of the local stores had a toy sale on, so we picked up £188 worth of toys for £108 to donate to poor local families.

The kids get presents. The grown ups eat a lot and get drunk.

Ash: A bike, Hot Wheels 4 lane track, Hot Wheels Shark Car Launcher, assorted books, a guitar stand.
Kristi: Tickets to go see School of Rock on stage, slippers, an M10 with rear-mounted mortar, Disney pillow, weighted blanket,

There is more stuff and people, but I wrapped it all up weeks ago and have forgotten what I got for who.

My parents are getting a refurbished computer and printer.  Together it cost about what I would have spent on them individually. It does mean I'm going to have to help set it up for them. And my parents are just about every bad boomers can't use technology cliche.

Siblings are getting gift cards because that's what they asked for.

I know this sounds a little like a snarky joke, but I have long thought about doing a present lottery. I never have, I am aware of its disadvantages, but what if I bought a bunch of gifts and wrapped them, made them sort of all-purpose uni-sex, most-ages stuff, and labeled them with numbers, and then let everyone who came to my house for Christmas reach into a hopper and pull out a number at random?

I'd say:

"Could be something great! Could be the Grand Prize! What'll it be?"

I think my cousin who is in recovery for a gambling addiction would especially appreciate this approach.

My family has cut down on gift exchanges over the years. A few years ago my sisters and I decided to stop exchanging gifts with each other and just spend the money on our parents. My parents never tell me what they want or need, so they've been getting a lot of gift cards and lottery tickets in recent years.

This year they are getting the following:

* I will pay their Netflix for a year
* Gods and Generals director's cut blu-ray for dad
* A couple of books for mom
* Various gift cards (Foxwoods hotel & casino, Amazon, supermarkets, restaurants, retail stores)

On the flip side, they will give me and my wife mostly gift cards and cash.
