The Burgomaster

My mother and father are both 82 years old and doing well. They've lived in the same house since the early 1970s, which is only about a 20 minute drive from where I live now. My wife and I see them at least a couple times a month and on holidays. I also call them at least a couple times a month. They still drive and get around to wherever they need to go. We have relatives in North Carolina and my parents visit them occasionally (or at least they did before COVID).

My dad had surgery a couple weeks back to repair a hernia.  He was able to go home the same day and far as I know he's doing well.  Wouldn't surprise me if he's back in the barn now or working on his sunroom some more even if doctors don't feel he's ready for that.  Mom's having a knee replacement I think either next month or in March.

Otherwise they're doing fairly well for mid 70s.  I haven't seen them in almost a month.  If they're like their respective parents they'll be around quite a while yet and will be mentally sharp for just as long too.  Dad will probably have to be forced into assisted living in his late 80s and will have to be reminded how he was on board with grandpa going into assisted living at 87.
God of making the characteristic which becomes dirty sends the hurricane.
