I don't think I'll have a lot to say on this topic in the future but I did want to add something and didn't wish to commandeer Alex's personal thread to do it.

I just wanted to note that people should not rush to believe the hysteria of the mass media, and that as has since become clear, there was no Israeli bombing of a hospital in Gaza, and no 500 dead civilians. The blast was minor and was caused when a missile fired by Islamic Jihad fell short and landed in a Gaza parking lot. There exists a tape which the IDF played in a press conference showing that Hamas privately acknowledged the truth of the matter and then plotted to spin the story to make Israel seem to blame in the eyes of the western media, which ate the story up with its typical feeding frenzy, as did far too many people.


Israel is a civilized nation; its foes are often human monsters.  Give the civilized people a reasonable doubt.

I did mention on my thread that I'd be waiting for proof one way or another. I am expecting to see claims and counter claims for a while.

The photo of the bomb damage makes it pretty clear it wasn't a direct hit from an Israeli rocket, and also casts serious doubts on the casualty claims - the damage is all in the parking lot of the hospital, and the building is only lightly damaged.  I seriously doubt there were 500 people in the parking lot!

Israel still says the USS Liberty and Rachel Corrie killing were accidents. I'd believe Jussie Smollett before I believed them.
