I really wish MNet would release
The Last Lion (1972) internationally as it is a good film - screenplay by Wilbur Smith, no less - but the stories about its' production make it something along the lines of
The Conqueror for what happened to some of its' cast and crew.

This troubled production is known as South Africa's cursed film: in addition to the death of the sound person James Chapman - mauled to death by a supposedly tame lion on set - several other people connected with it died either during production or in post-production, notably the star Jack Hawkins and the composer Con Lamprecht. The trainer of the lion was also brought up on charges of attempted murder relating to the death of James Chapman.
