TULSA, Oklahoma -

Comedy icon Gilbert Gottfried died at the age of 67 on Tuesday according to a message from his family.

In a tweet from Gottfried's account, his family wrote that he passed away after a long illness.

"In addition to being the most iconic voice in comedy, Gilbert was a wonderful husband, brother, friend, and father to his two young children. Although today is a sad for all of us, please keep laughing as loud as possible in Gilbert's honor.

I remember him best for his work in Disney's Aladdin. RIP.

I just heard myself. Movie that comes to mind for me right away with Gilbert was Problem Child.

RIP Gilbert.

Gilbert Gotfried (it always feels weird not to call him by his full name) was always funny in everything he did, even those commercials he voiced a duck in.

He'll be missed.

I got a chance to see him perform live a few years ago. Had a great time I know a lot of people didn't like him because of the voice, but he was genuinely funny. He will be missed.

He did a wonderful Lugosi impression too!
From what I've heard, he was big 'Monster Kid' kinda guy!

USA's Up All Night is what I knew Gilbert Gottfried from as a kid.  I have to admit, I liked Rhonda more, but I thought he was cool too.  I remember seeing him in other movies and shows after that and saying "Hey!  I know that guy!"

I recently learned he has two young kids ages 12 and 14.  That's a hard time to lose a parent.  So sad to see him go.  I'm grateful for the weird impression he left on the world.  Definitely an unforgettable guy.
