Part good, part bad here: this is the only film Jim Reeves ever made, a musical set in South Africa during the diamond rush days. I had to screen a 35mm print of this thing 12 times in one week in 1998 and I got so sick of it: the music is still nice though.

The guy with the cigar at 1:13 is my friend and mentor Jans Rautenbach: this was his first film and from what he told me, he was called "Hey you" on the set
