My old TV and hifi system needed replacing so I bought new ones this weekend: it will be nice to hear my vinyls again. Been a while. Smile

I also bought a BluRay player for $15 so at least I can watch one of the three BluRays I have  Buggedout Wink

I think I've only got two Blu-ray movies myself. Is Blu-ray still considered fairly cutting edge or has its era come and gone?

For physical media it's the standard. New films are now released on Blu-ray, DVD issues are rare and usually only for the lowest-budgeted films. There's a new even higher-end format called UHD, but the improvement over Blu-ray is so modest that I don't think it would be noticeable except on the largest home theater screens. I don't know anyone who has a UHD player. Of course, most casual movie fans stream nowadays and never even touch physical media.

Seeing as how I paid less than $20 for my BluRay player, I'd say its' era has come and gone  Buggedout Wink
