'Dreams Come True' - anyone remember this?

Hey folks,

A near softcore B-movie I saw back in the mid 80's was called 'Dreams Come True'.  It was the story of two young people who could astrally travel in their sleep.

Of course, a fair bit of their sleep-travel involved other nocturnal activities as well.  A fair bit of nudity, which was nice.

It seemed that neither of the couple knew that they could do this until they met each other, and found that they could travel to different places in their sleep.

There was a local sheriff who was trying to catch these two as they made mischief in the town by night, but since their physical bodies were in bed at home, they had full alibis.

I saw an ex-rental copy in the bargain bin at the video store years later.  Should have bought it.

Lesson: IF IT'S CHEAP, BUY IT!

(Same goes for 'Cyborg Cop'.  Saw that at K-Mart for $4.  Should have got it right there and then.

Anyone remember 'Dreams Come True' and can point to a cast list somewhere?

Umm I never saw the movie but if you want info go to IMDB.com and look for it there.

Oh, duh!  Thanks, Ellie!  :-)

And here it is.  Wow, that bad, huh?

Return of the living thread! I've dug up one of my first posts to the forum to give some updates! Nineteen years ago (has it really been that long?) I came here and, well, never left.

The edited/censored version of Dreams Come True was on YouTube for a few years, but the longer uncut version with more nudity was posted last year. Unfortunately, neither versions exist on YouTube as of now, probably because the channels were axed. The only trace of this on YouTube is this clip:

Edited to add:

Wait! I've found it!

Here is a review page:

Amazingly, someone found 12,000 feet of outtakes from the movie, and posted some scans here:

Finally, Troma has the film playing on Amazon, depending on your region.

Never heard of or seen this before. I spend most of my teen years in video rental stores, but never came across Dreams Come True. Looking at the movie's home video history, it kind of makes sense I've never seen it.

Troma didn't release their movies on their own label until the late 1980s. They licensed all their movies throughout the 1980s to other companies.

There is a listing on ebay of Dreams Come True released by Fox Hills Video. They had a distribution deal with Troma in 1987 for 9 Troma movies. Interesting enough, the German branch of RCA/Columbia distributed Troma titles in 1987 as well, including Dreams Come True.

Either way, what a strange and weird movie this is, based on the trailer.
Is it October yet?

Well heck, it's by the director of THE original CHILDREN (1980)! WHY didn't you just SAY so, Archivist???

Ummm maybe because this is the first time I've heard of that movie! I just checked out the Vinegar Syndrome trailer, their scan is very high quality.

the CHILDREN (1980) is excellant! The little basterds have black fingernails, and whoever they touch fry! Only way to stop them is to chop their little hands off!

I enjoyed THE CHILDREN several times on Commander USA's Groovy Movies when I was likely younger than the eponymous antagonists. I haven't revisited it in 40 years but I still remember it very clearly. Bleak premise, great suspenseful dark ride on the way to a bleak ending!
