News about the Bermuda Triangle. Seems like nothing is happening there anymore? (I probably should have googled).

"Reports" about Elvis Presley sightings. I guess the joke wore off. He would turn 90 next year.

Karaoke bars in my region. I'm sure there are still some, but not as prominent as during the karaoke boom in the early 2010s here.

Bubble tea shops. They popped (no pun intended) up everywhere here about eight or so years ago. All gone. A fad, just like rolled ice cream parlors.

A bit of an odd observation, but martial art schools or studios. Not that I was ever interested, but there used to be quite a few in my region. We even had two places that taught martial arts in our town. They disappeared sometime in the 1990s.

Is it October yet?

Satellite TV dishes in people's yards. There's one on my property. No clue how long it's been there.
Cards (baseball etc.) with gum in them. Not that the gum was any good-

I got some from my parents many years ago and Dad said the cards tasted better than the gum  :buggedout:

On a similar note, Cb Base Station Radios and the accompanying antenna on rooftops.

I can see this still being a thing for communication in more rural areas. I do know that most Cb radio antennas have disappeared from roofs in our town over the years.

How many times I wanted to kill some drunk warbling "Achy Breaky Heart".

Tabloids in the checkout lane of the grocery store that have front page articles on things like Jesus raising the Titanic, half man half parakeet discovered, or how some Oscar winning actor was secretly replaced by an alien.

Now tabloids are just stupid boring celebrity gossips stuff.

I want to read about the Loch Ness Monster running for President, dammit!

used to live in a flat which backed onto a bar which held a karaoke night every weekend. I would hear the same guy sing Robbie Williams - Let Me Entertain You like clockwork every week, and he would mess up the same section every time as well!

yeah quite a few popped up in my city about 5 years ago, and are still going.... my chinese friend introduced me to the delights of them. quite nice tbh, but worth basing an entire establishment around it? not sure about that.
Quotethe movie was cringe, corny, cheesy and "what the biscuits" is with this atrocious acting and childish corny thing of a movie???

I LOVED reading Weekly World News!

Ah the Sunday Sport. The poor man's porn mag with fake news stories attached. I'd wonder if it is still being published but I don't think I really want to know.

I could've sworn it stopped being printed quite a few years ago but just did a search and it's still going

no idea... my guess is probably, although the whole style and humour seemed totally 1980s?

never even remotely had the urge to buy a copy of viz, yet I probably know about a dozen of the characters... THE FAT SLAGS had an actual proper movie I think
