I prefer Halloweens 4-6 more than the original film and the recent sequels with Jamie Lee Curtis.

The Scream series is phenomenal. Maybe cause of my age, but I dig them more than some other classics.

Quote from: RCMerchant on Today at 05:03:04 AMthe FRIDAY THE 13th movies are garbage.

every single one of them was critically mauled on release, and only the first one has an imdb rating of higher than 6... so not really an unpopular opinion.

The recent Dune movies are massively boring, soulless, pofaced and colourless.  Some of the scenes are very well done visually but I've yet to finish either of them.  Think I prefer the David Lynch version.

Quote from: M.10rda on May 20, 2025, 10:29:40 PMChapters VIII and IX are both infinitely better than THE FORCE AWAKENS. (Now that's an unpopular opinion.)

I didn't particularly like IX all that much, either. VIII had some good parts as well as some lame parts.

That is an unpopular opinion. I'm not sure if IX isn't the worst in the entire series--it's certainly right down there with PHANTOM MENACE. I agree that VIII is a mixed bag, though. They should have let Rian Johnson finish the series out.

I know it's an unpopular opinion - that's why I reiterated it here and why I try to refrain from reiterating it, unless TFA comes up in conversation, w/ mixed results.

I don't quite see why there's such hate for IX, or VIII. Kylo Ren is ridiculous and there's some fat on both, but neither film is openly objectionable (specifically racist!) like PHANTOM MENACE...

TFA elicits in me the rare kind of virulently negative cinematic emotions that generally I reserve for mondo movies and Italian cannibal movies (both with real animal death) and for fascist propaganda. I'd just as soon watch TFA again as watch Franju's BLOOD OF THE BEASTS or a Dinesh DiSouza movie or something. F**k that s**t, life's too short.

And I will disagree with you on both of those. The Hall0ween films are ALL garbage save 1 and 3.
