the first time I ever logged into my MySpace account it said I had a friend. Some guy with dark hair called 'Tom'...  I was so weirded out that I logged off and have not done any 'social media' since.

-turns out it was the owner of myspace, who automatically made himself 'friends' with anyone who registered. I genuinely.thought it was some weirdo stalking me!

I always avoided big social media platforms, but joined last year because since getting the leg loped off, I'm stuck inside a lot, and I like to play electronic poker- which Facebook has a lot of. Not real money, of course.
I did buy a ramp last week- which enables me to get in and out of the house now.

think MySpace was finally defuncted a few years ago, but no one had really used it since about 2010?

nothing against social media as a thing, I get that if you play online poker or whatever it's probably worthwhile


I've never been able to browse Facebook because I'd always get a screen saying 'log in to continue', but what I've noticed recently is that Twitter / X and Instagram now do that as well... virtually impossible to browse them now without an account. still not tempted though!

Just a scam mate. I expect if you look up the guys military bio, that photo will be the one used for his official photo. I know a few women who experienced these scams during the Afghan campaign. Because their career details and some personal info is easily available online, they can make it seem more realistic by mentioning real-life details.
