Things you never thought you'd see that you did see

Kind of a random concept here but I thought of 2

1. I saw (most of) The Shaggs. Old record store/ college radio geeks know "my Pal Foot Foot" and other hits of this, the most amateurish and thus, the best, garage band. Somehow, someone got the idea to get the band back together. At the Lilypad in Somerville, I saw the Dot Wiggin Band which was Dot with two female backing musicians. They did the aforementioned "Foot Foot" "It's Halloween" and even NEW material. Their mom and other Wiggin sisters were in the attendance but did not perform.

2. Did an uber ride from a Masonic Temple with a Mason. There is a Masonic Lodge in my town. I've never in my life seen anyone there. I knocked on the door many years ago. Well, one night I got the call. The guy told me all about the lectures and so forth that they have, and also assured me there were "things we can't talk about" like the probable fact that the lecture was given by Jeffrey Epstein, JFK, and finally an alien. He gave his email as I had expressed so much interest in it, but it actually seems sort of goofy.

A tuatara. Cute, lizard-like animals. Rare, slow growing & slow to reproduce. Did not know any were outside their native country. The Dallas Zoo (Texas) has a few.

An AI that could pass the Turning test. A computer in everyone's pocket. Both were predicted when I was a kid, but I gave up on them when I was in high school.

seeing actual UFO(s)... as literal flying objects and lights that made zero rational sense. between around 2009 and 2010 I saw multiple different ones, all of them from the same vantage point. none before then, or since. 

Leicester City winning the premier league. (statistically way less likely than seeing UFOs).

Not something I like, but like Indy I never thought I'd see anything like the current political climate.

I never dreamed I'd see marijuana legalized. When I was in my early 20s that was my top social issue! Now, I'm not sure it's 100% a good idea, although obviously it's much better than people serving long prison terms for marijuana possession. My preferred option for all drugs is decriminalization: no penalty for simple possession or use, but the government can still criminalize trafficking.

Never suspected I'd someday interview Wallace Shawn. Just something that was not on my radar in any way.

Won't go into details, but there's some sex stuff I did that I never really thought I'd get the chance to do that I did!
