Reading Peter Hoar's word salad, I think they should just leave Blakes7 as it is. There is undoubtedly going to be the usual race and gender swap BS and I am so tired of this nonsense 😴

Good analysis. But it will probably be a case of 'let's take this well liked show and make it about something completely different'

The BSG reboot was pretty decent. I am prepared to give this one a chance. If it sucks I'll just walk away. My favourite character from the show was always Avon. I'd be interested to see what they do with him (if they even have the same characters).

Battlestar Galactica has a lot to answer for. I mean, I watched the first couple of seasons and thought they were great. But then it became accepted wisdom that in order to reboot a show, all you needed to do was to keep the trappings and steer it in a completely different direction, preferably gritty.
In the case of BSG this worked, because the original wasn't all that great to begin with, and the new direction was truly interesting, but it by no means a formula for success.

Frankly, I don't thing we'll see Blake's 7 reboot anytime soon.
