Trying to remember a movie about a late 19th century/ early twentieth century male ballet dancer's decent into madness....
He has a controlling older brother who manages his career....
A few scenes I recall, one point he tries to stand up to his older brother, but gets smacked...
Another, he tries to choreograph his own work involving a man playing tennis against two women, but it gets bad reviews....
He tries again involving something to do with a native American massacre, the crowd boos uncontrollably, & they show him losing it back stage....,
It ends with him sitting in the dark in a straight jacket.....

1980. Good year. That bad Popeye movie by Robert Altman. I was going to say Raging Bull but that is Boxing not ballet. Although it seems like Robert De Niro's character goes insane in that movie too. Which I believe was made in 1980. 1980 must have been the year when actors and their characters go insane (I kind of do this weird thing with years in movies where I notice so many movies constantly do something of the same theme or node but only in that year. Like 1987 was the year apparently where you had to see some kind of strange machine that uses a grappling hook. 1988 was the year where you are seeing big blue tubes or vials or containers with Blue liquid. 1986 was the year when Atheists could break off of Christians and become mainstream and prominent people.)
