I only saw about twenty minutes of the movie. I think it was made in the 1950s — most likely late 1950s. It was in color, sort of the same kind of looking color at the Movie The Searchers. I believe too that this was a John Wayne movie. It is possible though that this was from that Kirk Douglass and Anthony Quinn movie, Last Train from Gun Hill.

I believe strongly that this was a John Wayne movie though. I remember a scene where there is an old guy out on his porch with his dog. And some people come up to him and approach him. I think they were wanting to know something or get some information about something. And they saw this guy's dog. And they said something like that is a nice dog. And the old man was like, Oh thank you. And then they say, what is the dog's name. And the guy says, His name is dog. And the people sort of look at each other befuddled and they say something like, seriously what is the dog's name. And the guy comes back more cantankerous, I said his name is "Dog! What is their something wrong with your hearing!" At least that is how I remember the scene. The main question though is what is the name of it.

Points that I am almost hundred percent sure about, but I could be wrong about!
——> It's a John Wayne movie (any movie from like the 1950s that looks a certain way and has a certain feel to it and definitely if it is a western I might say it's a John Wayne movie. Without confirming it. It is possible it was Last Train from Gun Hill, but I really think it was some John Wayne movie. Probably not one of his better known ones.)

——> That it is a western (It could be one of those stoic sort of like Dust bowl type of movies. And the way it was shot, sort of rustic and in old farm locations I might have assumed it was a western.

Appreciate the help. The internet has been no help at all on this one. It has been like the sting of a thousand cobras. I guess even the internet is turning into Grumpy cat these days. With trying to find out information.

If it is a John Wayne film, then it is the movie BIG JAKE (1971).
We shall meet in the place where there is no darkness.

Yeah I have been petting every dog that I have seen today that I see people walking. Hoping that one of the "dogs" could give me a tip on it. Come to think of it, was there ever a movie where a dog was named Tipper? I thought there was. I will have to do a new thread for that. You could be right on Big Jake. I have never seen that. I could have swore this was an older movie than Big Jake. Like from the 1950s. Maybe I have to think in Anagrams or something.

Big Jake is probably what it is. Although when I did an internet search on this yesterday it came up with Big Jake and also Searchers. I have seen The Searchers like four times and I don't really remember a scene in there where they are talking to someone and that person says that their dog is named Dog. It is possible that this is in a few other movies though. Oh well. Big Jake. If that's not it though I am going to go Nuclear on someone.
