In honor of the hellish heat, I finally got my laser disk machine working.  Video Oasis here in Boston has a couple hundred LD's (not to mention 40,000 titles in vhs) So i inagurated things with Eaten Alive and Cannibal holocaust.  I'm not the biggest gore buff, but I was intriqued and thought it would be a good change of pace.  eaten Alive was good, but Cannibal Holocaust was amazing.   Though the dubbed dialogue was kind of crappy and elements of the script lacked some subtlety, overall it was a great movie.  one I will never see again!!

it actually has a clever plot twist but, if you're reading this hereyou proabbly know all about it.  There's an interview with the director at the end and they even show a still of the infamous "pirahna" scene.  I don't know what you've heard, but it looks to me to be a scene they didn't use, for reasons I could guess (too over the top, to expensive to pull off with any realism, etc) The director seems like a very normal guy!

Again, a great movie, but I think I'll be sticking to campier fare in the future.

Good to be hearing a good review for this cannibal splatter classic, which seems to heavily depress everybody that immediately watches it.
Since these folks are,of course, the same ones that happily love "Cannibal Ferox"/"Make Them Die Slowly",a film chalk full of freshly torn intestines,scooped-out brains, limb slicing, and sexual mutilation(the infamous "dick" scene, and "breasts" scene--don't want to gross out folks here, after what happened last time when  "Pink Flamingoes" was being discussed).
                But,whatever your taste....

I wasn't into some of the animal mutilation scenes in CH.  especially the turtle.
