I know this has had to have been done before, but again what comics would you love to see turned into movies?

3 that come to mind for me are

1. Thunderbolts- I just love the whole wolf in sheep clothes idea.

2. Evil Ernie/Lady Death- I had heard that this was an idea but never came to light

3. Johnny The Homicidal Maniac- For those of you who have read it know that's enough said.

entertaining.

I used to though "Hellblazer" would be great in the big screen, but after hearing that the studios wanted Nicholas Cage to play John Constantine and that they had transformed the plot in a regular psycho thriller, I started to think they'd better don't touch the comic book. Most of times the studios are not interested in creating small but good movies which show respect for the material they are based on, but plain blockbusters. For one "From hell" you have a dozen "Spawn" or "Batman forever" to prove the theory.

If you think about it, it is easier to conceive a comic book inspired movie from scratch (Shymalan's "Unbreakable" or Raimi's "Darkman"), if you want better results than the usual.

BTW, now that Raimi's "Spiderman" is such a gigantic success, it would be a good idea to watch again "Drakman". Raimi had much less budget to make it, but also much more freedom, and it shows.

Yeah, and diden't he get to kill himself, too? Darkman's first victem? "Say hello to Mr, retread, punk!" kinda demise?

Naw, that was Ted, Sam's brother and #1 Shemp punching bag.

Ironically Darkman was originally conceived as an adaptation of The Shadow, but when rights could not be acquired the storyline was altered.  Or so some such rumor says.

Gosh, remember when the Internet was supposed to be a wonderful magical place where intelligent, articulate people shared information? Neighborhood went to hell real fast... - Anarquistador

I remember hearing some years ago about Robert Rodriguez or someone along those lines adapting Madman, but it never came to fruition.

Could you imagine an R-rated CGI film of Milk And Cheese? Now that would be something.

What ever happened to the much talked about Psyco Joe and Moo Frog cartoon?

I'd like to see an animated Sam & Max done right, as opposed to the dumbed-down kids version that aired on Fox, complete with twisted humor, a wacked-out plot, and Max as the leering psychopath he was meant to be ("SUCK ON THIS, YOU SLIPPERY BASTARDS!")

It is definitely not my bag, but it seems like "Lady Death" may still be a go.

Two i'd like to see. As toons they  would work, if the art style is captured. "Bone" by Jeff Smith, or, Dave Sim's "Cerebus, the arrdvark".
.... Either one could work, but the attitude and writting demand the imput of the writers. An anime view, that adult level storytelling are possable in toon style, is essencial.
....Hummm.....So, Sam Raimi offed his Bro. Ted. Imagin the family gatherings. "Your butts mine, Sam. Some day.." "In your dreams, slacker!" "Will you two please shut up, and eat your turkey!" In unison "O-key, mom."

I thought I heard something long ago about Nickelodeon working on a Bone movie. Anyone know whatever became of this?

From the IMDB: Ewwwwwwwwwwww.

'Batman' Film Director to Become 'Batman' Stage Director

Tim Burton, who directed the original "Batman" movie in 1989 and the sequel, "Batman Returns," in 1992, has agreed to direct "Batman: The Musical!" on Broadway, the New York Post reported today (Friday), citing theater sources. Jim Steinman, who composed the music for the show, told the newspaper: "We're thrilled he's going to do it. David [Ives, who wrote the libretto] and I floundered around for a year trying to figure out how to musicalize "Batman." Then we looked at Tim's original movie and thought, that's it." The Post quoted sources as saying that the music will cost at least $15 million to mount. Plans are to open it out of town in 2004 and on Broadway the following year."

Ewwwwwwwwwwww. The punctuation of the title just screams "Holy exclamation point, Batman!!!" Maybe he should team up with now-unemployable flopmeister Joel "Nipple-liscous" Schumacher to make the play Mel Brooks couldn't dream of while making up "Springtime For Hitler." Turd ahoy!

Tim Burton. all bat-fans may have heard,
Plans a musical Gothamite bird.
Fans hope for a jewel,
but don't be no fool,
bring paper to wipe up the turd.
