While at the Fangoria Weekend of Horrors (Saturday, August 17th at the Pasadena Center) Romero said he is having promising negotiations with 20th Century Fox to make 'Dead Reckoning'. He suggested the film would likely be R-rated for its theatrical release, but then make it to DVD in an unrated version. With a budget of around $10 million, it will be the most expensive 'dead' film yet.

This news seems legit, as deadreckoningmovie.com is registered by Fox Home Entertainment.

That's too bad.

Not that the film's being made, of course.  It's just the name.  I think Twilight of the Dead would be a better choice.

To each his own, I suppose...

I agree with you on the title. Dead Reckoning sounds like a cheesy action movie on late-night cable (in fact I'm fairly certain I've seen that title on the channel guide), but this movie is being MADE, and that's the best news I've heard in a long time (I'm a very lonely person).

No matter what the movie is called,I'm appreciative happy that Romero's fourth zombie/"..Dead" outing is finally, finally being made, even if it's for a hard "R" rating. And,with a major studio backing him, this one will get a much better release than "Day of the Dead" did(which received a slow-going city-to-city regional release;nothing wrong with that[which is better than direct-to-video],but it didn't get the much wider type of theatrical release that "Dawn of the Dead" successfully enjoyed).
Truly can't wait to see that zombie-sees-fireworks-then-get-blow-to-pieces bit on-screen,and all of the other flesh ripping, blood spilling, limb tearing zombie mayhem that this film will heavily, and joyfully, offer.
