hello b-peeps...

wasted my viewing time this week with two gigantic foreign stink bombs...

Nuclear Run - 1980 (R). (VHS) Directed by Ian Barry. The cover art for the video promises "Starring: Mel Gibson..." A complete lie. I didn't even catch Gibson in his UNCREDITED role, listed on IMDB.com as the "Bearded Mechanic." Also printed on the box is "From Creator of MAD MAX and THE ROAD WARRIOR..." The connection? As far as I can tell, the art director from this film also worked on "Road Warrior." There might be other connections, but it doesn't really matter anyway. This movie has something to do with nuclear waste, a leak, a contaminated guy, and a water pollution conspiracy. To be blunt, it's somewhat of a worthless mess. It never makes sense to me when some characters wear radiation suits and others don't while in the SAME AREA! Are some of the goons immune? AKA "Chain Reaction." Useless fact: Ross Mathews, associate producer, was an assistant director on "The Cars that Ate Paris." NOT RECOMMENDED.

Revenge of the Dead - 1983 (R). (VHS) Directed by Pupi Avati. Judging by the cover with illustrated zombies crawling out of the sewers, you'd expect this to be a zombie flick. Well, it ain't. Some guy is given a used typewriter, reads the ribbon, and learns of a former priest who was studying spiritual grounds that could raise the dead. The guy gets interested and spends the whole movie sleuthing for clues like the Hardy Boys' long lost Italian uncle. And that's about it. Every time it looks like you're going to get a zombie or gore, this imported bore cuts to the next scene. AKA "Zeder."  NOT RECOMMENDED.

over and out,

"Starring: Mel Gibson..." A complete lie. I didn't even catch Gibson in his UNCREDITED role,

Reminds me of Carmen Electra on the cover of American Vampire  She plays a bit part with no speaking lines

REVENGE OF THE DEAD is one of the worst pieces of s*** I've ever seen....
Definitely on the short list for worst zombie film of all time, except I'm not sure if it counts since there are no zombies to be found outside the box cover.
