Yet another film that actually turned out better than I expected. With that title and the two main actors being Wesley Snipes and Dennis Hopper I expected a crappy action movie, and instead I got a solid but unespectacular thrilller about a cop (Snipes) who tries to avenge the death of his partner, killed almost by accident by a small time racketeer (Hopper) and his goon (Viggo Mortensen). Not a great deal, but the script is both realistic and effective, and the cast is very well assembled.

What really surprised me was the excellent job of Dennis Hopper as the trickster. Never before his usual overacting has been more handy, as it suits extremely well his character, a real looser who is only successful when cheating himself. Watch this one if it's on TV or you are into crime. I am.
Due to the horrifying nature of this film, no one will be admitted to the theatre.

I think you might be the first person I've ever come across giving that film a positive review. Saw it when it first came out and was utterly bored. I even remember on Entertainment Tonight, back when they used to do the Movie Track Poll (positive/negative reaction from audiences having just seen the film), that it scored the lowest total in the history of their Movie Track Poll. I think what really killed the film was that it was marketed as a Wesley Snipes action film when it was really just a film noir style movie, and a dull one at that.
