Recently saw "The Scorpion King" and "Eight Legged Freaks"

There are things that I liked and things I didn't like about both

I like Xena so "The Scorpion King" Is just a Xena movie with pecks instead of tits A step down if you ask me.

Eight Legged Freaks is definately a nice little tribute to 50's B sci-fi

My complaint about both of them is that I find PG-13 B-movie fare annoying. No real gore, no nuditiy is not the way to go in a B-movie.  Sure the old Black and White Rubbersuit Japanese fare are fun, but part of their charm is their age of movie innocence quality and that age has passed. I'm from the Joe-Bob school of b-movie fandom. If I'm going to watch a b-movie especially an intentionally b-movie I want blood and breast dammit!

;-)

They were still fun though...

They're PG-13 because that ensures the most cash. It ensures enough violence for the adults but also gets money from kids. All big blockbusters (or wannabe blockbusters) are PG-13 nowadays. It sucks, I know.

Sigh... just goes to prove money is worse than censorship

Yeah, THE SCORPION KING would have been vastly improved with nudity and more gore.  Damn kids and their money!  They ruin everything for us!!!

It's the perfect excuse to stop giving out allowence!

"Dad... why won't you give me my allowence?"

"You'll ruin the demographics, son."

"What's a demographic?"

"I'll tell you when you get older now go do your choirs."

>"I'll tell you when you get older now go do your choirs."

Why would a choirboy be going to those types of movies? :)

Funk, E.

Maybe because after the priest is done with them they NEED something a little more innocent };->
