Man!  Here's some tips for anyone shooting a movie on a budget: Tresspassing saves lots of cash- no need to build costly sets, when you can simply sneak onto a construction site or oil field! Also, a house can easily be used to simulate a hospital, laboratory and a nightclub!

Our hero/monster is a scientist working on radiation.  An accident in the living room (laboratory) causes him to receive radiation poisoning.  He is rushed to the den, uh, hopsital, where doctors attempt to save his life, by padding a lame movie.

Gill, our hero/monster, decides to lounge/recouperate at the hospital patio (a lawnchair on the roof an apartment building!!!).  He falls asleep in the sun.  The sunlight interacts with his radiation poisoning, causing gill to devole, in a matter of minutes, into a lizard-man.  He awakes, horrifed by his new situation.  He runs downstairs, across the yard, uh, hospital grounds, and into the house, uh, the lab.

Suddenly, without notice or explanation, Gill is driving down the Pacific coast Highway.  He is NORMAL, spending money freely, hitting up on the babes, slamming down some whiskey. He and a singer from the den ( I mean, the local nightclub) go to the beach for drinks and sex.  He awakes the next morning.  He suddenly gets up and runs to his car and drives back home or to the hospital...whichever the house was supposed to be at the time.

While driving home, Gills again turns into a lizard-man. He runs into a basement and cries. Meanwhile, through our own deductions, we realize that Gill's hideous conditions immediately wears off if he sits in a dark coner and pouts.

I won't say anymore, as I don't want to give away the ending to this taut thriller.  It's simply a must-see movie!!

oopsie.  The title is "The Hideous Sun Demon".  Sorry, it must be the radiation...

The Burgomaster

This movie has been on my "must see" list for a long time. Now you have REALLY made me curious about it!

"Do not walk behind me, for I may not lead. Do not walk ahead of me, for I may not follow. Do not walk beside me either. Just pretty much leave me the hell alone."

K-Sonic

Yeah, this movie is a standout. I like the fact that the main character is a boozing scientist.

I got this on DVD from Sinister Cinema which includes a scene of him eating a rat.

Scott

Yea, I liked this one also. Though its not the greatest B-Flick, it sure hits the spot.

The Burgomaster

Just a side note - I just purchased the DVD of FRANKENSTEIN ISLAND. Robert Clarke from HIDEOUS SUN DEMON is in it, along with other master craftsmen like John Carradine and Cameron Mitchell (need I say more?)
