If you could have one super power, the ultimate, what would it be?

For me super strength,
I am already pretty smart, but if I were nigh invulnerable (like Tick, Superman, Colossus), than I would be able to do anything. The people with mind powers never go the length, plus if Magneto could block the most powerful mind in the world, I could too,.

I am a BIG fan of The Shadow,so I choose the power to cloud men´s minds.
And telepathy.
And telekinesis.

Hey, I've read some of your posts...you're on the right track

The interesting thing is that a good "team" would need a balance.  Have a strong person, a quick one, a telepath, another who can open gateways between places, a person with telekinesis, and also (not to be forgotten) someone who always knows what is the right solution to a gray area problem.

Either invisibility or the power to make people do your bidding.

Squishy

Super speed. Not enough hours in my day, and besides it's good for survival and peeking up skirts.

Leela: "What gave us those strange powers?"
Fry: "Maybe we're all wearing magic rings...but they're invisible rings so we don't even realize it. ...Also, you can't feel the rings."
Leela: "Fry, shut up and look at this! (reading) ...May cause superpowers in humans!"
Fry: "Wow! A super-power drug you can just rub into your skin? You'd think it'd be something you'd have to freebase!"
Leela: "Let's see, which powers do we have? Super-strength?"
(Fry smashes a table;  Leela kicks through a brick wall.)
Fry: "Yup!"
Leela: "...Lickety-speed?"
(They zoom around the building in a flash.)
Fry: "Check!"
Leela: "...Ability to command the loyalty of sea creatures?"
Fry: "Hey Zoidberg, get in here!"
Zoidberg: "Screw you!!"
Leela: "Ain't got that! ...Wow, superpowers! I'll be able to pack my day with twice as many humdrum activities!"

Hmmm, Batman and his group (Robin, Nightwing, Oracle, Huntress, etc.) All seem to have the basic power of mind and martial arts, and they always seem to do fine, I dont think you need a balanced group.

Imagine Colossus, Rouge and the Beast as a team would kick everyones butt and they are hugely overbalanced towards the brawn side (And I mean Rogue from the comics)

Ah yes.  My friends and I love having this discussion.  My answer is this:  complete and utter control of the flow of time itself.  You could replay your favorite moments in life.  You could have all the time you needed to get something accomplished.  You could literally make the rest of the world stop while you and a special someone had the night of your lives.  And the next night.  And the one after that.

In honor of "X2," I'm keeping an eye out for lines in reviews that reveal the critic either (a) doesn't know WTF they're talking about, or (b) wasn't paying attention to the movie. Best ones I've seen so far:

(1) "(Starring) Famke Janssen as Storm..."

(Oy vey. WAKE UP!)

(2) "Of course, anyone familiar with the comic book knows that Mystique is Nightcrawler's 'mother'..."

(Yikes. Of course. Back when she was a sneering, skinny butch-b***h, Rogue was a member of the Brotherhood of [Evil] Mutants, and Mystique's adopted "daughter." She left them and joined the X-Men, in fact, to get Xavier's help in dealing with her mental issues over all the extra memories--and powers--she swiped from another superhero, which unintentionally turned out to be permanent. Mystique and Nightcrawler may both be blue, but unless there have been some WILD continuity changes in the book in the past few years, they aren't related. These is the sort of critic who wonder aloud how Jeff Goldblum's character in "Jurassic Park: The Lost World" could possibly have a daughter like "that," while everyone else giggles at him.)

(3) "The audience has plenty of time to figure out a better way to handle the movie's climax."

(Now we're all little TOO familiar with the comic. This Iceman doesn't look like a big sno-cone and slide around on those silly ice-ramps that he just generates out of thin air for miles and miles. He doesn't produce massive glaciers with a snap of his fingers--he chills soft drinks and puts out fires and on a good day, he can put up a wall. Huge bodies of rushing water? Forget it.)

"THINK!!!"

Fearless Freep

Yah know...you never see people in X-Men with totally useless mutations like that.  Not that the way they treat 'mutations' makes a lot of sense anyway, but you would think even in the alternate reality that X-Men lives in, there'd be a faily even distribution of stupid stuff as well.

Reminds me of the first of the Xanth books.  Everyone had to prove a magic talent or be banished to Mundania.  Even if your magic talent was something ridiculous (I think one example was being able to turn yuor urine different colors) you could stay.
