I just watched the Russian "1960" movie "Planet Of Storms" complete with  "English" subtitles! It's pretty neat to watch, as it’s a chance to see a bad movie from a Russian perspective! The quality of filming is like the old Flash Gordon serials used to look! Its complete with people in dinosaur suits Robot, and what looks like painted backdrops at times! 90% of the movie appears to have been filmed on a beach and the other 10% in a swamp!
Basically a landing party lands on Venus and loses contact with the main ship! So a rescue party lands to find them! Funny parts include the following!

1. They are all in sealed space suits! Yet, 2 of them contract malaria!
2. To cure the Malaria its up to the bulky robot to fetch a couple of pills to give to the stricken cosmonauts.
3. To take the pills they open their visors and simply take the pills,
4. They complain that there is only enough oxygen in their suits for 24hrs! Yet water and a sea surround them the whole time! Not to mention all kinds of living creatures!
5. Also our heroes sit around a blazing campfire in their suits!
6. With all the plant life, a dinosaur, this one fool has to get a sample of molten lava!
7. The robot must never be exposed to too much water because his mechanism is sensitive! Yet, he walks through molten lava, while 2 cosmonauts sit on his shoulders!

This movie proves not only Americans made dumb movies in the 50s and 60s! Yet id recommend this film, as it is as good as the American bad movies! It’s a rare film and I got my copy from ::::http://www.filmwizards.com/Merchant2/merchant.mv?Screen=SFNT&Store_Code=1

For fun, try watching it on a triple bill with those movies that canibalized its footage:

Voyage to the Prehistoric Planet (1965)
Voyage to the Planet of Prehistoric Women (1968)

Afterwards, the original cut don't look so bad....

I've never seen the original subtitled film, but VOYAGE TO THE PREHISTORIC PLANET is a lot of fun.

It's available for about $10 on DVD with FIRST SPACESHIP ON VENUS from Diamond DVD.  You can buy it http://www.e-dmec.com/ECscripts/ECware.exe/dcp?id=001&sku=98501&type=A0S11&lc=EN">online here.

I actually liked it enough to review it for my web site:
