well, it definitely isn't great...but it is about some cannibals in west virginia...and it is definitely a B-movie. it suffers from cheesy dialogue and dawson's creek-ism but the time still passed rather quickly...HOUSE OF 1,000 CORPSES definitely pushed recent theatrical boundaries more than this one..all the sparse gore in WRONG TURN is pretty much cutaway, so don't spend too much time blinking...still, WRONG TURN, like 1,000 CORPSES, is a step in the right direction...hopefully these lower budget flicks will turn decent profits and we'll get more (and hopefully better) genre movies in the future...

funny thing, this week i rewatched TEXAS CHAINSAW MASSACRE and it just seems that much better for having seen WRONG TURN. what a masterpiece. if you get a chance, check out the remastered DVD, it contains some great extras...comentary by hooper, leatherface, and the director of photography...extended footage of the set props, blooper reel, etc...

I agree. I have the TCM DVD and I think it's great. Highly recommended!

Could you define "Dawson's Creek-ism" for me please.

I absolutely cannot stand that show but ACTUALLY have many male friends that love it.

Hell, I know guys in their 40's who love it!

Can you believe that?

I'm always trying to come up with a good way to tell them how bad it sucks.

Maybe your definition can help me slam it a little better.

Could you please define "Dawson's Creek-ism" for me please.

Using young actors from hot teen TV shows (or they seems to be dressed like that) and then add lots of talk as "We know best" and it with some fast edits that almost shows nothing that could be something (so the movie could been seen for almost all ages) [I think this is what "Dawson's Creek-ism" is]

I like to call it "The I know that I'm not stuped but I have to be stuped so the slasher could kill somebody and lets not add a decent motive to this movie as we are at it, and always end the story with more then one killers"

Well, the fact is... Slasher or horror movies are very big money and most of the films are composed of marketing... Not the story... Characters that can attract the teens, and a killer that has a cool image is far important then any story. Sadly but its very true. This is why I'm not much of a Nightmare of Elm Street fan because it really started this kind of crap movies... Good going Was Craven... :D

Now, to really think of it... I didnt like 1,000 CORPSES...because it seems to imitate "The Rocky Horror Picture Show" and "Natrual Born Killers"

The good guys werent that important to like, and the bad guys were too typical to enjoy... Nothing was that suprising and the ending [even so it seems to be suprising is not... its like a typical Quentin Tarantino movie] and then with all that build up this gets bad to worse...

Sorry, but nothing in that movie came to me as being very likeable... I sure hope that isnt called a step to the right direction.

WRONG TURN isn't a step in the right direction. Its just a step in the same direction. Just another slasher film. Been there, done that. Didn't bring anything new to the table and didn't make any of the leftovers seem fresh.  Just one great big missed opportunity.

What's the definition of a hillbilly virgin? A girl who can run faster than her brothers.
