The Burgomaster

This crap classic DVD showed up in my mailbox today.  I had forgot that I even ordered the damned thing.  I'm not sure which is worse: the fact that I forgot I ordered it . . . or the fact that I wasted my money on it in the first place.

"Do not walk behind me, for I may not lead. Do not walk ahead of me, for I may not follow. Do not walk beside me either. Just pretty much leave me the hell alone."

Ash

Isn't that the one where the aircraft carrier gets sucked into a vortex and is transported to WW2?

If that is the one I'm thinking of I remember it being pretty good!

George

You are correct ASH.  It was on TV this past weekend and I actually Tivo'ed it.  I really enjoyed it even though it is pretty schlocky.

Before anyone says the usual flaming stuff about this film....IT'S MAKE BELIEVE!!!

I thought it was a good film, if only for Kirk Douglas's dilemma - Do we interfere with time?

Best bit has got to be when the smug faces of the Zero pilots were wiped clean when confronted with F-14 Tomcats! Nice bit of overkill, and the line about complaining that missiles were useless due to the targets not producing enough heat! Top sci-fi fun!

I remember seeing this in the theater with my dad when I was a kid.

Loved this movie as a kid. Even at age 10 or 12, I thought its approach to time travel was an interesting departure from what you usually see in movies and TV, even if it is a very fatalistic approach. For me, the best part was the neat little twist at the end, where the rich old man who saw the boat off at the beginning turns out to be the guy they left behind. Not a big surprise or anything, but very cool.

Thanks - now I've got that song by Europe stuck in my head.
