Just to let everybody know, we've raised a total of $275 as of this morning, which I think is pretty good.  (Of course, a nice even $300 would be better...hint, hint.)  For a two day period, that's not too shabby.  I know Andrew's aware of the project, and I'm know he truly appreciates the generosity of all those good folks who have kicked in with some quite generous donations so far.

There's still time, and anyone who wishes to can Paypal any size donation, large or small, to me at ken@jabootu.com,  or use the tip jar on the Jabootu front page if you don't have an account.

Thanks again, everybody.

I'll try and give some money. I'll try and get my brother to help me out on this I don't have much but every little bit helps right?

Now it's time to sing the nation anthem IN AMERICA!!!

That's exactly right.  Noboby should feel embarrassed if they'd like to contribute but only have a couple/five bucks to spare.  Many hands make work light, and many thankful (if economically depressed) fans make donation big.  Or something.

A handful of five dollar donations helps another G.I. or Marine get a care package--and lets them know that we on the homefront are thinking of them all, and honoring their sacrifices--or aids some unit in trying to do good works and ensure that the larger war mission is a success, by helping to foster a stable and free Iraq.

There are a lot of people who need help in the world, but a trip to the Spirit of America website (http://www.spiritofamerica.net) at least allows us to know that the money we'll be donating is going to good causes and, moreover, isn't eaten up by 'administration' fees and suchlike.  And a visit to this page (http://opgratitude.com/website/html/modules/news/index.php?storytopic=4), reprinting letters from our men and women who have already recieved the same packages we'll be helping to send over, assures us that they and the sentiments behind them are appreciated.

Dave, thanks for doing what you can (and your brother, too).  We all appreciate it.

Ken, I just dropped $10 via Amazon.  It would have been more, but thieves broke into my truck & stole the radio.  Total cost of $800 out of pocket.

Dude, seriously, you don't need to explain.  Ten bucks is a good donation, and very much appreciated.

Sorry about your truck, though.  Bastards.
