Are we nostalgia junkies? Why do we like these movies?

Mr Hockstatter

I'm a child of the '80s, but I don't watch '80s movies out of nostalgia.  I really didn't go to many movies in the '80s, and when I did it was some "good" movie and all I was interested in was the girl I was with, not the stupid movie.  I just don't care for the Hollywood stuff, though to be fair they do make 2 good movies every 3 years.  I love slashers, so I watch a lot of those from the '80s.  But there are some good ones from the '90s as well, just so long as you don't get into the larger budget stuff which really reeks.  I also like sci-fi, and there's a lot of good cheeseball stuff from the '70s through the present.

Now, if you're talking about music, I hardly listen to anything that wasn't recorded between '82 - '91 or so, and I'm extremely nostalgic about that.

Why do I like these movies?
It´s for the unintentional comedy - the comic effects of scenes, dialogues or monsters that are suprisingly idotic and funny.

Hail to the god of unintentional comedy!
Hail to the god of bad taste! :-P
