I don't know the name of it, but it a great atmosphere. The movie involved young people, one of them was a blonde and there was this guy driving around in a hearse. the movie must have been made about 1970. I seen it on TV in the mid seventies, but I don't know much more about it. It always left a strong impression on me.

Mofo Rising

not PHANTASM, older film with a creepy guy driving a hearse chasing a girl.

Squishy

Maybe The Hearse, but that's a Canadian film from 1980.

I think I seen it in the mid-seventies. I always wanted to see the end of this one. I don't know the name of it.

Cullen

The movie I thought of upon reading your post was "Phantasm 2".  Not the right one, I know, but it *sounds* simular.

Any more info on this film?

Scott

One of the roads on which the blonde women runs in horror of the hearse in on an incline, but not real steep. The guy in the hearse dosn't say anything. Also the guy in the hearse is not that old.  Watching it at 10 years old or so was scary. I've never seen this film again.

Cullen

Another question.  Was it in color or black and white?

Scott

probably color, but we only had a black and white set in the 70's

Lee

Hey Scott, we'd like to help but your not giving us much to work with hear. Do you remeber anything else about the movie? Like why he was chasing this girl?

Cullen

I had a brainstorm rereading these posts.  Could it be "Let's Scare Jessica to Death?"  LSJtD was filmed in 1971, has a guy driving around in a hearse and a blonde girl in it.  I seem to recall hearing about the film having a moody atmosphere, so who knows?

Well, at least it's a closer guess than "Phantasm 2", right?  :-)

I've never seen all of CARNIVAL OF SOULS...but it has a blonde woman and such...

maybe?

Cullen

"Carnavel of Souls" is a good one, one I hadn't concidered.  At first, when I read your post, mmv3000, I thought it didn't match Scott's description, but the more I think about it, the better it sounds to me. Wish I'd thought of it.

If it helps, there is a site that have images from "Carnavel of Souls". You can try  Carfax Abby, at http://www.carfax-abbey.com/TitleSearchResults.cfm?TitleVar=122

There are also images for my guess, "Let's Scare Jessica to Death".  They can be found at www.terrortrap.com.  (I couldn't get a direct link, but you can find the images and a review under the section "Supernatural 70's")

I did some small looking around for "The Hearse", just in case Squishy was right.  Found no images or traces of the film outside of its IMDb entry.  The IMDb says the movie was released in1980, but you might want to check it out, just in case.  The IMDB entry is http://us.imdb.com/Title?0080853

Gerry

It's not CARNIVAL OF SOULS.  It doesn't have a hearse, and the blond girl never gets chased by a car.
