Hi folks.  With the glut of new superhero movies coming up and having just been released, and in the vein of AFI's 100 best, how about a list of the best superhero movies.

I would argue for Batman as number one but could be swayed to Spiderman 2.  Well here would be my top 5 and a list of the top 5 I want to see.

1.  Batman
2.  Spiderman 2
3.  X-Men 2
4.  Batman Begins
5.  Superman

Wanna see....

1.  Captain America - WWII era
2.  Daredevil - done better
3.  Green Lantern - Hal Jordan era
4.  Teen Titans
5.  Possible crossover - maybe an amalgam kind of story.

Hmm.  I'm having trouble thinking of five superhero movies I liked.

1. X-Men 2
2. Batman (1989)
3. The Punisher (Dolph Lundgren)
4. Superman 2
5. Um, uh, damn.  Uh ....

No, I didn't like either Spider Man movie.  Especially not the second one.  I paid to see more than two scenes of Doc Ock and Spidey fighting, dammit, not some crap copied from Superman 2 about Peter Parker not wanting to be Spider Man, losing his powers, and then getting them back to save the woman he loves.
Kneel before Dr. Hell, the ruler of this world!

The Burgomaster

* Spider-Man 2
* X-Men 2
* Spider-Man
* Daredevil
* Batman

I haven't seen BATMAN BEGINS or FANTASTIC FOUR yet.

Batman Begins
X-2
Batman 1+2
Superman2
Spider-Man2

Sin City  would be my second favortie knocking out Spider-Man2 if this was just comic movies. Ghost World  would be up there also.

I'd say Sin City also but since the topic is Superhero Movies, I had to leave it out. Funny Rich, did you copy the first 3 on my list? I will say that I had some trouble deciding whether it should be Batman ('89) or X-2 in second.

You know I didn't even notice we had the same three until you mentioned Odinn7. X-2 was my top comic movie until Batman Begins. That movie just nailed Bats cutting X-2 to second slot. The first two bat movies always been favorites of mine but X-2 just beats out. So I didn't really have a hard time choiceing the two.

X-2 was great and I don't know why. I was never really a fan of the X-Men comics but the movies are great. I had a thread about this awhile ago...probably a few months ago.

Batman Begins

Spiderman

Would like to see Captain America done right.

And you thought Trek isn't cool.

Master Blaster

I heard Deathlock was going to get his own move even though the character has'nt been able to hold down his own title since the 70's.

Most Superhero movies dont do it for me.

1. Batman
2. Batman Returns
3. Lundgren's Punisher (guilty pleasure)
4. uuhhh Batman Begins I guess
5. uhh all the rest kinda suck.

I don´t know about best but my favorite for sure is Spider-Man 2  followed by...

Batman Begins
Batman 89 (and Returns they kind of switch on me)
Superman 2
Spider-Man

Now it's time to sing the nation anthem IN AMERICA!!!

Bandit Keith from Yu-Gi-Oh the Abridged Series (episode 12)

Ugggh I'm imagining what a Teen Titans movie would look like in this day and age....   blarf.  It would work ONLY if they cast people who are relative unknowns and are not models.

But seriously... I fell asleep watching the Daredevil movie.  Then I tried to watch it again and couldn't.   And I'd say my "crap tolerance" level is fairly high, although barely average by comparison to people on this board.

I haven't seen Batman Begins, but I did just read "The Dark Knight Strikes Again," something I had actually never read (though I read the Dark Knight Returns" back in college).    Miller continues to astound.  If Batman Begins does a best job of bringing Miller's vision of Bats to the screen, then that'll be my #1.  (Miller's version of Plastic Man is still giving me nightmares.)

X-2 had great pacing and had Wolverine killing people, plus the opening of the Phoenix storyline, so I enjoyed that one a lot.  And Patrick Stewart can lend gravity to just about darn near anything, as can Ian McKellen.

The Spider-Man movies weren't as good as their hype, but they were good.

Never saw "The Punisher," but maybe I need to.  :)  Bet it doesn't have anything as good as Stallone roaring "I AHHHHMMM DE LAHRWWWW!" in it tho.

I, for one, would like to see

1.  A WELL DONE Dr. Strange movie, someone tell me more about that crappy version someone did in the seventies?  (I'm sure someone has it on the shelf.)

2.  An honest telling of Phoenix's story, complete with her slaying billions.
3.  A well done Flash story could be cool.

Blue.Brutal

I dunno, it's fairly hard for me to reat them after the first one, but I'll give it a shot...

1. Batman Begins.  Best superhero movie ever.
2. Spider Man
3. X-2
4. Spider Man 2
5. Super Man 2

But this list isn't entirely accurate - I liked the original X-Men, too, and The Punisher (2004) qualifies as a guilty pleasure for me.  I actually liked Daredevil (although I think it could have been better), and I enjoyed Hellboy, assuming that qualifies as a superhero movie.

The recent Fantastic Four movie contains a scene near the end where they're actually acting like a team, something I have never seen in a superhero movie before, and Michael Chiklis did a great job with the Thing, but other than that, it was merely O.K.

For the record, I liked Tim Burton's Batman when I first saw it, but I can't watch it anymore.  The movie should have been called "The Joker and his Understated Adversary."  I NEVER liked Batman Returns.  It was an overdone neo-goth nightmare with bad plotting, overdone sets, positively ham-tastic acting, boring action scenes, and a freako Penguin Funeral at the end.  Also, the Tim Burton Batmans had a really bad case of "Kill The Villian" syndrome (the Spider Man movies, thus far, can get away with it because they've only killed villians that actually died in the comics).  Hell, even Joel Schumacher didn't kill The Riddler, Mr. Freeze, or Poison Ivy, and that jackass thought nipples on the Batman costume were a good idea.

Thank you!!!  Finally, someone else can see that the emporer has no clothes on.

I still liked the first Batman, though. :-)

X-2 better than Spider-man 2?  Spider-man better than Spider-man 2?

Man, I thought you were developing taste.

(That is, of course, a joke.  I really don't have a problem with your list.  I don't agree with it, mind you, but I don't have a problem with it...)
