As I look at the bottom of the board, I see we have 117 guests right now. This is quite alarming. That's way more than I am used to seeing. Why don't some of you join the board and start posting? This is a great board and just viewing without the ability to post is no fun at all.

...besides that, you guys are making me paranoid...

Probably half of those are search engine bots.

Ok, so they still scare me...I'm a paranoid sort.

93 at the moment.  Whilst the count has been high lately, I've noticed that the last few days, obviously because of New Year, it has been fairly low.  I remember being on at about 18:00 last night with pretty much just me and 14 guests on at the one time and thinking about how low that is.

Shame I didn't use that alone time with the guests better, but we all have regrets...

Anyways, just think: the high count means there are more people watching our inane ramblings, so score one for us!

101 people at this hour. For me it's about Movie Marathoning and posting short comments about movies on this very unique messageboard. Been on the board for about 7 years and enjoy counting up the movies and attempting to complete films of my favorite genres and actors/actresses.

Join the fun people. It's easy................

It's 59 now. Was 60, but then I realized I wasn't logged in :)

The unregistered viewers don't bother me; to me, it seems natural enough to have surfers and browsers visiting the site pretty often.  They are probably drawn to some specific topic, by Google or some such, and are just reading the info they searched for.

I don't register for every forum I visit, if I'm looking for specific info that has already been addressed on the site.

We could always just let Menard loose on them generically as "Guest."

Professor Hathaway: Up the voltage.

I agree. It's nice to think that someone other than the handful of people involved in a given thread might be getting some entertainment out of it. Of course, working for a newspaper, I'm used to the thought of thousands of strangers scrutinizing what I write. Doesn't bother me.

I'm also inclined to think that people should lurk on a board for a while, and get to know it before they post. I know many of us started out that way. It saves trouble, I think. And if most of the guests find their way here because a search engine turned up an old thread, I'd kind of prefer that they don't drag two-year-old arguments to the top, just to concur with someone. That used to happen quite a bit. And who could forget the day the M. Night Shamalamalaman fans invaded? Yes sir, there's something to be said for lurkers.

Been reading this forum for a few years now, so one of those guests is probably me. I posted once or twice as Indecisive, so long ago that I've forgotten the password.

You're all very entertaining, but please start more OT threads about soup.

Thanks.
