This movie is included in Mill Creek's NIGHT SCREAMS 50 MOVIE PACK.  It is a good quality, widescreen version.

Bodybuilder Mickey Hargitay (who was married to Jayne Mansfield) loses his mind and "becomes" the Crimson Executioner.  When a group of models and photographers visit his castle to take sexy/cheesy photographs for pulp novel covers, the Crimson Executioner traps them in his torture chamber.  In one amazing/funny scene, a woman is stuck in a giant spider-web with a poisonous mechanical spider.  The web is booby-trapped so if anyone tries to rescue her, they will be shot with hundreds of arrows.  Other victims are stabbed, burned, sliced, etc.  The dubbing is terrible and the blood looks like red paint . . . but this is an extremely entertaining 1960s gem.  Very cheap, never boring, and good for multiple laughs.  And Mickey Hargitay is probably the skinniest bodybuilder you will ever see (but I suppose he looked pretty impressive in the 1960s).
"Do not walk behind me, for I may not lead. Do not walk ahead of me, for I may not follow. Do not walk beside me either. Just pretty much leave me the hell alone."

never heard of this, sounds great...

I like the way they were so literal with film titles back in those days, too. "Bloody Pit Of Horror", what's that about? "well it's a horror film about a bloody pit". genius.

I spent a good part of this movie trying to decide if Law & Order: Special Victim Unit star Mariska Hargitay looks anything like her daddy (the jury's stilll out). If you did a shot every time someone, particularly Hargitay, actually said "THE CRIMSON EXECUTIONER!" you'd be dead drunk halfway into the thing.

That mechanical spider was a highlight. The Hawaiian (?!?) model trapped in the web sure was a defeatist. She spent a good fifteen minutes telling everyone within earshot she was finished, don't waste time saving her, her life was over, etc. before the thing finally got her.
If you're an Andy Milligan fan there's no hope for you.

I haven't watched this in a while as I don't tend to re watch movies period, but I will make an exception I think.  His performance is so over the top it's astounding.

A remake with jim Carrey as the Crimson Executioner would be awesome, I'm ashamed to admit.  He's the only one who could top Hargitay.  He'd have to work out alot though

I got the feeling that perhaps the C.E. was channelling Adam West, along with some good hash. The spider was reminicent of the one in HORRORS OF SPIDER ISLAND. I wholeheartedly recommend this chunk'a Mozzarella.
If it's true what they say, that GOD created us in His image, then why should we not love creating, and why should we not continue to do so, as carefully and ethically as we can, on whatever scale we're capable of?

The choice is simple; refuse to create, and refuse to grow, or build, with care and love.

For some reason I always find the opening scene really epic. Not sure why, just liked the feel.

Ozzymandias speaks: I watched the movie a few months ago. The one thing I'm sure of is Mickey Hargitay looks NOTHING like Arnold Schwartzenager (forgive my spelling), who played him in a TV movie about Jane Mansfield. Hargitay was better looking.

Ozzymandias has spoken!!!

Hey Mickey! Hey Mickey!

How can you not love a movie titled the BLOODY PIT OF HORROR?

Re-watch it and take a shot every time Mickey says "the Crimson Executioner!"
You WILL feel the wrath of the CRIMSON EXECUTIONER!

Supernatural?...perhaps. Baloney?...Perhaps not!" Bela Lugosi-the BLACK CAT (1934)

I've recently picked up Pure Terror 50 Movie Pack from Walmart for 10 dollars!!!

It had Bloody Pit of Horror which was something I was looking for my Swimsuit/zombie story (currently the story is on hold for my Neon Lights story). There is several elements that seems workable from my story so I know I'll be watching it in the future for inspiration.

I got this on dvd.  LOVE it!!!  Saw it on some up late show with the red head actress with big lips.

Never forgot the clips I saw.

THE CRIMSON EXECUTIONER WILL MAKE THE NON-PURE PAY!
