I believe I'm correct in saying that XTRO is the only movie to contain the word 'XTRO'... (well okay, the 2 sequels do as well, but in feature-length movie land, it's a word unique to that franchise)
any other examples of this? a kind of 'googlewhack' but for movies, if you will... see if we can get to 100
- it can be a real word, made up word, name... long as no other feature length movie has that word in the title then it counts. (hyphenated words do not count, and numbers don't count either)
1. XTRO
2. CHITTY CHITTY BANG BANG
the word CHITTY does not seem to appear in any other movies ever released. ( I'm using imdb results to clarify )
You mean something like Gattaca?
4. The Stendhal Syndrome (1996)
There's no other movie with this title.

Yep. No other movies contain that word so it counts :)
Ditto no other movies contain the word 'Stendhal'
It just needs to contain one
word that does not appear anywhere in any other full length movie titles (except for its own sequels, if there are any)
5. XANADU (1980)
6. GOKE- BODY SNATCHER FROM HELL (1968)
7. BLACKENSTEIN (1973)

Dogs in Space wouldn't count, there are many movies with "dog" and many movies with "space."
9. BARBARELLA
Something tells me I did a really bad job of explaining the rules, lol
10. RATATOUILLE
Nah, I just did a bad job of reading them. My fault.
How about Quadrophenia?
Yeah that counts!
12. SUSPIRIA
so this has been re-made with the same title, so technically there's 2 'different' films, but I think we can say it counts
13. Bubba Ho-Tep
I don't think there are any other Ho-Tep movies.

Alas, I will veto LOLITA, as there is this:

So GODZILLA counts?
good question...
it depends. - can anyone put the word 'Godzilla' in their movie title if they want, or does it have to officially be part of the original 'Godzilla' universe? if it's the latter then I guess it counts...
The 1998 GODZILLA disqualifies it, I reckon.

it doesn't matter if there's other movies with 'Doctor' in the title, as long as the movie contains at least
one word that does not appear in
any other full length movies, then it counts.

on closer inspection both have original non-english titles... were they both cynically re-named after the Bond flicks came out? not sure
THE MOONRAKER looks legit! Color me impressed. Good catch.
The OCTOp***y seems questionable. One review claims the original title translates to "The Octopusses", plural. I could translate it myself online but uhhh surely I must have better things to do. :bluesad:  I dunno, you're the boss of this list, you make the call!
well even if it doesn't we're still at 100 so it's all good
I'm disappointed I couldn't add THE NOSTRIL PICKER, there's another film with 'Nostril' in the title, lol
Now that we're @ 100 I keep thinking of more... also hard to find the updated lists... I know we didn't do HANNIE CAULDER... did we do PUTNEY SWOPE? FITZCARRALDO? We must've done Koyaanisqatsi and Powqatsi, right? Should I stop?

All 3 of them words been in titles.
"Ass" gotta be in 1000's of pornos.
I love how we surpassed 100 and the rules are still a mystery :bouncegiggle: :bouncegiggle:

I think it is more of a case being too lazy to double check titles on IMDb. I've been guilty of not checking as well :bluesad:

how about 2008

7 HOURS 30 mins!!
also one in 2017, and another one in 2004
bad luck, don't feel too sad about it
a long time ago distinctly remember reading from more than one source that with the exception of TEXAS CHAINSAW MASSACRE, no movie was allowed to have the word 'Chainsaw' in it. there was a rule. does this ring a bell with anyone?
but this can't be true anyway because HOLLYWOOD CHAINSAW HOOKERS is a thing.
. DINOSAURUS! (1960)
. the GOONIES (1985)
. GANJASAURUS REX (1987)
. the SIN OF HAROLD DIDDLEBOCK (1947)
. the AWFUL DR. ORLOFF (1962) and it's sequels.
If we're standing on ceremony, we might consider disqualifying ORLOF/ORLOFFs. Some films w/ the word in the title are sequels, others are unrelated and just have the name slapped on there.
BTW I wake up in the middle of the night and I've thought of new titles, then return to sleep and in the morning have hopelessly forgotten them.

Damn, I searched the title on imbd and only had the one result come up.
the current version of imdb is a mess. not a fan of the layout , graphics or the way the search function presents results tbh.

haha never heard of that... there's a stoner metal band called BONGZILLA, which I guess sounds like it could've been a sequel

They were all made by Jess Franco- all the same thing, it seems. That weird universe.
I finished THE GODMONSTER OF INDIAN FLATS. entertaining. something tells me Joe Dante might have watched this a few times
my copy of TROG has still not turned up. well they say (so bad it's) good things come to those who wait...
Chopper Chicks in Zombietown (1989)
Nightflyers (1987)
The Devonsville Terror (1983)

I used to think so too but I revisited the old Overlook Horror Encyclopedia recently and there were at least a couple of non-Franco Euro-horror ORLOF titles or retitles....... the name ORLOF/F must've meant box office money in the 60s->early 70s.......
seems there are no full length movies with 'Twit' in the title... THE TWITS is in pre-production slated for 2025
TROG arrived. even the screenshots on the back look funny, good sign
^ There was a girl I f**ked before I met Tara Sue. She and Tara were neighbors- that's how I met Tara.
ANYWAY- She was brain dead. She would always lift her arms and sniff her armpits. Me and my stepson Jim started calling her TROG. Cuz the ape man is always running around with his arms in the air. And she didn't shave her pits either.
Yes, I f**ked her once. :bluesad:
I would have had less shame if I f**ked a sheep.
EDIT: Watch for the part where they regress his memory- and he see's things from an old 1950's dinosaur movie!

I mean, that's a sign of great dignity in some cultures?
^ Yeh- white trash culture.
Since we've devolved (I guess) into old dating confessions, I once had the opportunity to sleep w/ a larger lady who dressed in leather and looked a lot like the guard from Jabba the Hutt's palace. You know, the green one w/ the underbite in the helmet who gets eaten by the giant monster in the dungeon? She looked like that guard. Do you think I should've taken her up on her offer...?
haha, this is all good fuel for BADMOVIES.ORG: THE MOVIE -- which I have decided is now potentially a thing?! :teddyr:
Let's do a Kickstarter for it.
(...Is Kickstarter still a Thing...?)
I reckon aim high. pitch it to Spielberg and work downwards. If Tommy Wiseau declines then resort to crowdfunding!
watched TROG at last... incredible that this movie was made by adults, for adults. some real 'they really think they can get away with that?!' moments. but it's good fun and never boring :)
Chris Seaver (the maker of the MULVA, TEEN APE, and FILTHY McNASTY franchises, among others) used to live/work about 75 minutes away from me. I could probably get to him if he's still alive/not hiding his head in shame for his film career. He'd be an ideal helmer for this project, I'd say...
Oh yeah, did anyone mention MULVA? That's unique I'd say!
