I think it still holds up. It always cracks up millennials watching it for the first time on youtube.

Still love the film. Artistic masterpiece? No. Still has great lines and gags? Yes. Carrey and Daniels have such a great chemistry between each other as well.

As for Jim Carrey, a variety of things happened. The death of comedy for the last decade (a variety of reasons), Carrey's hot topic opinions, his age clearly showing and his continuing attempt at award winning roles have left him out of the spotlight. However he got a shot in the arm with him playing Dr. Robotnik in the Sonic the Hedgehog films.

Still one of my favorite comedies of all times. And I thoroughly enjoyed the sequel too.
